Juzo Made to Measure - Flat knit
Flat knit garments are knitted in rows along a flat-knitting machine, allowing the machine to adjust the quantity of stitches to customise the garments anatomical shape and pressure curve, whilst maintaining stitch size. When completed the garment is sewn together with a seam (usually) along the length of the garment.
Flat knit garments are therefore custom made, they have short stretch/minimal elasticity as they are designed to hold/support and reduce fluid accumulation. Flat knit garments offer the maximum containment in an elastic compression garment making them ideal for maintenance therapy in cases of lymphoedema, lipoedema or severe vein problems with a tendency for oedema.

When to Custom make a garment?
We advise if a person's measurements do not fit the sizes available 'off the shelf' in a sized garment, customised measured garments are the best option, especially due to each persons unique needs and shape, custom garments being more specifically made will often give the best results.
How do I pick the right fabric?
Selecting the right fabric type depends on the patient and their needs. What type of fabric 'stretch' they need i.e. a round knit or flat knit garment? Round knit fabrics are more elastic and will stretch vs a flat knit being made to 'contain and maintain'. Round knit and flat knit fabrics also have individual fabric types associated with them so we recommend discussing with your health practitioner or one of our friendly staff as to what option might be right for you.
